An intervention project must highlight the found values by reading, selecting and underlining a legacy of time and history.
In the project to restore the Palace of the Counts of Murça, the context is the noble historical city center, of Lisbon, near River Tagus, a place of urban continuities, dense,
marked by notable buildings. Palaces, Monasteries and Churches.
The monumental building has the sobriety of our history and the project lies in its continuity.
The recovery of the Palace takes advantage of the 'weight' of tectonic walls value, its stone, its rigor and its scale, introducing another time level, with freedom, of our time values.
The new building is understood as the limit of the garden a transparent 'inhabited wall' over the new courtyard, the recovered Palace and the city. A wall that hosts inhabiting functions complemented in outdoor spaces that extend and potentiate their existences.
